Build a Niche StoreAs a webmaster, I have come across alot of scams over the years. Other webmasters trying to sell me their product that will make money on the internet. I fall for it every single time. Hey look, I can make millions from this and all I need to do is pay the $100+ and sit on my big fat ass. The money will roll in and my ass will just keep getting fatter and fatter.

Once again an opportunity came up to buy another affiliate website called BANS or Build A Niche Store. All the reviews for BANS were excellent (naturally!, why would the owner display bad ones?) and the asking price was $97. OK, $97 is a bit of cash for a no hoper like me. Anyway, I coughed up the dough, set up my first site called Super Mazuma and I havent looked back!
The reviews I read had people earning money from the day the site was uploaded. That didnt happen to me, but within a week I was starting to see small amounts trickle in.

Basically, BANS, uses the eBay Partner Network program to help you cash in. Within a week I had made about $1, nothing exciting but that dollar is now starting to turn into a daily thing rather than a weekly thing. My best day I made over $20! Yep, $20 big ones. I will be honest with you. I have done no promotion for this site whatsoever. I uploaded it and linked to it from a few pages and that was it.
I could probably put in a bit of effort to promote it, but at the moment I dont need to. I have done exactly the same for a few other sites too and both make great money.

If you are a fat, lazy webmaster like me, then get yourself Build A Niche Store. You wont regret it!

There seems to be something going on over at Entrecard.

Entrecard is an advertising program that many bloggers use to advertise their blog on other peoples blogs via a 125×125 banner exchange. Some people love it and some people hate it. Here at Slave To The Internet I used to use it but I wasnt getting too much traffic from it.

In recent days there has been some crazy things happening.

Firstly, Entrecard was up for sale at the popular webmaster site, SitePoint. However, after a few days the auction was pulled down by Graham (the owner) of Entrecard. Graham gave no reason for stopping the sale.

Then, today, I get an email from Entrecard stating a whole heap of changes to the Terms and Conditions.

Here is a copy of the changes outlined in the email.

1. Buy credits for less: Entrecard is now selling 1,000 credits for $6.00. You can buy them here: http://entrecard.com/r/buy_credits
2. More pricing increments: Instead of prices doubling every time, there are now a few more steps. The new price points can be found on the Advertising page in the wiki, here: http://entrecard.com/docs/doku.php?id=advertising
3. Members are not allowed to sell credits: This goes for ebay sales, posts in the Marketing forum, and posts on other forums. If you have references on your site to the sale of credits, please remove them immediately, as it is now against our terms.
4. Credit transfer limits: Members are allowed to make a maximum of 14 credit transfers a week, up to a maximum of 1,000 credits, whichever comes first. This means you can still run contests where you give credits away for free, and under 1k per week. Note: This does not affect linked blogs, you can transfer unlimited credits between linked blogs.
5. Transfer tax: From now on, all transfers, including transfers made with our new payments API, will be taxed at a rate of 12.5%. The taxed credits will be sold to members (see #1).
6. Blogs cannot be unlinked: Once you link a blog, it’s there for good unless you ask us to delete the blog from your account. This prevents linking/unlinking to get around the credit transfer limits, and it also stops you losing access to a blog if you unlink it in error, which happens a lot.
7. No more coupons: You are no longer allowed to send coupons.
8. Shop closed: Except for Entrecard upgrades (Featured Status, Fast Pass) the Entrecard Shop is now offline until further notice. Please do not request a seller token until the shop returns. When it comes back, it will be bigger and better. We’ll communicate more details nearer the time.

None of them really effect me, but Im sure there will be some bloggers who will not be impressed with the changes. Probably the biggest one will be that users can no longer sell the credits they have earned.

I guess it just a matter of time to see the impact to Entrecard, but interesting time lie ahead.

Anti-PacmanDo you get angry when you are playing Pac-Man because you find the ghosts are hard to getaway from?

Have you ever wanted to play the evil guy in a game?

Well, here is your chance. With Anti-Pacman, you actually play the ghosts and your job is to hunt down Pacman and destroy that little, yellow wimp.

This is the first of the “anti” games that Sugar-Free-Games has put together and its a great time waster. It takes a bit of getting used to, as you can only control one ghosts at a time. When you arent controlling a ghost they will roam around freely trying to catch Pacman, but you have to remember when he takes a power pill, he starts to chase you. As the game goes on, it gets fatser and harder.

Its a good laugh, a bit frustrating but definately a good way to kill some time.

The Windows calculator isn’t the greatest feature on your desktop. Its boring, clunky and doesn’t always work the way you would like it to.
Here a 4 calculators that will do a far superior job.

POWERTOY CALCULATOR
This is the first of 2 calculators that Microsoft giveaway for free, but dont include with Windows for some reason. With this PowerToy Calculator you can graph and evaluate functions as well as perform many different types of conversions.

MICROSOFT CALCULATOR PLUS
This is the second Microsoft calculator which is available to download for free from Microsoft. This calculator should probably be the standard that is included in Windows, yet it isn’t. Not the prettiest of calculators, but it does an excellent job. This calculator can even handle conversions which can be very handy.

MOFFSOFT FREECALC
Moffsoft has basically taken the standard Windows calculator and added some nifty little features to it. Probably the best feature is Tape. Tape allows you to save, print, or clear on simulated history paper. And, you can also have FreeCalc sitting in your icon tray for quick access.

eCALC
eCalc is simple, basic and neat. It has large buttons for easy mouse navigation, and a large character display that is easy to read. This calculator, like most others, can be used via the numeric keypad too but if you prefer using your mouse for entry then this will suit you more.

Nintendo have teamed up with YouTube to advertise the new game Wario Land: Shake It on the Nintendo Wii.
The awesome thing about this ad on YouTube’s website is that the video itself actually destroys the YouTube website. The shaking and explosions in the ad slowly make the site fall apart. It’s really cool and make me want to buy a Nintendo Wii!

I have a couple of websites at the moment, but I think Im going to start focusing on DWO alot more over the coming months. I have only 1 reason. My host.
You see, my other sites are hosted by LunarPages. I have always been impressed by Lunarpages Hosting because of their excellent pricing, service and reliability. However, lately my sites have been loading slowly. Too slow. And it pisses me off. Come on LunarPages, get your fucking act together. I pay good money for my hosting but it has just been shithouse lately. So, I have jumped to Hostgator.

I have only ever heard good reviews for Hostgator. Sure, there are alot of negative reviews for Hostgator on the web but everyone who wants to bitch and moan are going to put it on the web to stop potential customers. Hey, I have just done it with LunarPages.

I signed up with Hostgator just the other day and they had my site up and running within 20 minutes. TWENTY FUCKING MINUTES! I mean, that is sweet. And so far the speed has been fantastic. I cannot fault Hostgator at all. And, best of all they offer AW Stats in their CPanel. This is something that Lunarpages has never offered. For all you non-webmasters out there, you are probably bored shitless by this post already and have no idea what I am going on about, but trust me the webmasters who are reading this will completely understand.

ps: I going to shutdown my hosting with LunarPages soon. Sorry LP, you have let me down too many times and now you must the ultimate price.

This is one of the most popular music video’s on YouTube. It’s Nine Inch Nails’ song “Closer” but with a Star Trek film clip using scenes from the show. Made to look like Kirk and Spock were gay lovers.

It’s cool!
