Sir Mix-a-Lot is Desperate for Cash

One hit wonder, Sir Mix-a-Lot is obviously in a desperate state. The lover of big butts has switched to loving big ass chocolate bars, in particular, Nestle’s Butterfinger bar. But don’t worry, he is not alone. Charisma Carpenter also makes an appearance and so does the dude who played The Hulk .

Sir Mix-a-Lot has sold out and has released this commercial, “I like Big Butterfingers”. How many people did it take to come up with this well titled gem? Was there a marketing meeting with 12 marketing guru’s in suits sitting around the boardroom table arguing over what they could do to promote Butterfingers and some dickhead came up with this shit?

And then, Sir Mix-a-Lot signs on the dotted line to cash in to buy himself another Ferrari? Where the fuck has Sir Mix-a-Lot been anyway?

Drummer, Steve Moore, from Rick K. & the Allnighters pulls out all of the moves when playing at an amusement resort in Elysburg, Pennsyvania. Im not sure if I should laugh or applaud this dude, but Steve has become a viral sensation!

Google Chrome OS Explained

As most internet savvy people are aware, Google has actually released on Operating System to compete against the 2 big companies in Microsoft and Apple.

Although it is not an OS that I would use, a lot of people may actually benefit from using it. If you only use your computer to surf the web then it may actually benefit you. But, don’t let me explain it to you. Watch the video for a better understanding.

The best thing about Chrome OS is that is FREE! If you are interested, Google Chrome OS isn’t available just yet. However, you can sign up here to be notified when it is ready for download.

What is RSS?

Yesterday I wrote about post featuring some funky RSS icons and then someone asked me “What is RSS?”

Sometime I forget that there are a lot of people who don’t use the internet as much as I do. These same people don’t know or understand how they can take advantage of internet and really see how powerful this technology really is.

What is RSS?

RSS mean Really Simple Syndication. Put simply, RSS takes date from websites such as blog posts like this one and converts the data into a format that can be used by a variety of different programs, websites and “readers”.

Google Reader is one such popular tool that reads RSS feeds. Using an RSS feed that you have found from the web, you can ask Google Reader to convert into an easy to read format. Using a service like Google Reader allows you add thousands, if not millions of RSS feeds, so you can read all of your favorite websites from one easy location. You will no longer need to visit each site individually to get the latest updates.

Mozilla Firefox is a browser that will let you add RSS feeds to a toolbar. When you click on the button it creates, you will see all of the latest additions to your favorite sites. Check out the image to see what I mean.

Using RSS is a great way for webmasters and bloggers to update their fans quickly and easily. For the fans or visitors of a particular blog, using RSS will save you time and make your life just a little bit easier.

Funky RSS Icons

Pretty much every blog on the internet has a RSS Feed, but most use the standard and very boring RSS icon (myself included, but I have a very good reason for mine and I will go into that one day down the track). However, I found this really cool set of RSS icons a long time ago and they have been sitting on my hard drive ever since. I have no idea where I got them, but they are a sweet looking set of RSS icons.

Too many people think that screensavers are rubbish, but I think they are awesome. My workplace (Slave To The Internet does not pay the bills!) has the standard, boring Windows screensaver. That damn Windows logo pops around the screen and bores me to tears. So, I set myself a mission to find the best screensavers on the web. And here they are…..

POLARCLOCK
Polar Clock is a very cool screensaver. Each ring moves around your desktop to complete a circle. The outside ring is counting the seconds and each ring moves into the final ring, which is the month, completing a full calendar. Easily one of my favorite screensavers due to its simple design and uber sexiness.

HOLDING PATTERN
Just like looking out of the window of a plane. Every time your screensaver kicks in, you will get a new view from your seat. The plane glides smoothly across the sky as you take in the beautiful scenery.

Many, many moons ago a company called Berkeley Systems released a software package which was just screensavers called After Dark (you can still get it from Amazon).
